About Greymouth my hometown
About Greymouth my hometown
Greymouth is the best because it's small so you know lots of people. It's a safe and quiet place for kids to play around. There is a lot of beautiful nature to play in and an exciting forest to explore. Most of my amazing family live nearby so I get to see them all the time.

If I was one of nine children
If I was one in nine children at tea time you wouldn't be able to get much food. If I was one in nine children I wouldn't be able to watch what I want on TV. If I was one in nine children it would be hard waiting to use the bathroom. If I was one in nine children I would always be late to school. If I was one in nine children I would probably wake up early to crying. If I was one in nine children It would be hard to get around.

My trip on a waka
Dear Jacob,
The first days on the waka was really scary. The waves crashed against the waka vigorously. You couldn't get a wink of sleep. I started to get really hungry, so I got the spear and started to spear. By Nightfall I had only gotten 2 fish. I devoured them. After another 50 days, I started to see land I got really nervous what would be there. If you get this that means I made it.

3 facts about Maui
3 facts about Maui
Today we read about Maui's fish. Here are three interesting facts I discovered.
1. He fished up the north island and his canoe became the south island
2. He wove his fishing line out of flax and while he was weaving he sang a karakia to strengthen his line ( a karakia is a Maori prayer)
3. Maui's brothers thought he wasn't very good but when he fished up the north island they thought he was the best fisherman ever.
The other stories I know about Maui is Maui and the sun which is about where Maui gets the sun and makes it go slower.

Tech Famine Reflection
On Monday and Tuesday there was a tech famine and at school, we played games like elastics and Knucklebones. In Knucklebones I couldn't get past the first level. We also had a handwriting competition, I don't think I will win. We went to the beach and Me and Harrison ran around talking to people. On Monday I went to Harrison's house and we played some board games and also played on the bikes. Do you think you would survive?

My Holiday
Last Saturday I went to the Crusaders vs Sharks in Christchurch with my mum and dad and my little cousin Boston. Before the game, we got some food and we got a picture in front of a Sam Whitelock poster. We found our seats and the game started. At halftime, this guy won 9 months worth of hellers products because he kicked the ball over the posts from 30 meters back. Then the game started again the Crusaders Won 40-10.

Voyage to New Zealand
Dear Matthew,
How are you? How is it going back at home? Anything exciting happened?
The ride's been very long so far. I can't wait to get to New Zealand. I'm feeling so excited because I can't wait to see what there is there. But I am a little bit nervous too. There could be lions. Or tigers. Or leopards!
The first thing I want to do when I get there is look at the scenery. I can see some land from here so we must be nearly there.
I'll write back to you when I get to the island.
From your mate,
Max
