For reading we had to do about 1 of the 3 leaders in the book the class is reading called Refugee. We could've chosen Adolf Hitler, Fidel Castro, or Bashaar al Assad. I chose Adolf Hitler. Here is my mini-research about him.
Hi Max, What a cruel and terrifying this part of our world's history is. I visited a concentration camp in Germany, which has been kept as it was as a museum. It was very emotional just being there and hearing the sad stories. Well done on finding the information you did, some of which I didn't know. Mrs G
Hi Max, Pop and I really enjoyed your piece on Adolf Hutler. It was interesting and informative. Pop and I visited Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps with all the cruel memorabilia on display. I have lots of books of stories of Jewish people that I can give to you to read, if you would like. On the entrance gates of Auschwitz the Germans wrote "Arbeit Macht Frei" do you know what that means? The Gernans were not telling the truth when they wrote it, because they had no intention of releasing the people they held against their will inside of Auschwitz. Look up the story of Kazimierz Piechowski who escaped from Auschwitz, he had an exciting exit from the camp! Love Nana and Pop xxx
I liked the introduction explaining the task and how it connects with the book you are reading. What an important part of history you are learning about.
