Once upon a time there were  3 little pigs and lived with their mum. One day the mum said “you are too old to live with me”. So the pigs set off. The littlest pig  said “I’ll make my house out of marshmallows”. Then he was going to the big waterhole to go swimming. So with a clang, bash and boom his house was done and he went to go down to the big waterhole.  The 2nd oldest pig said “ I’ll make my house out of dog bones.Then he was also going to the big waterhole. So with a clang, bash and boom his house was done and he went to go down to the big waterhole. The oldest pig was going to make his house out of bricks. His house took the longest but it was worth it.  When all the pigs were  inside the big bad wolf came out. He went to the littlest pigs house first he puffed and he huffed and blowed the house down. So he caught the pig and put him in the sack.Then he went to the 2nd oldest pigs house he puffed and he huffed and blew the house down and caught the pig and put him in the sack.He went to the oldest pigs house and puffed and huffed and didn't couldn't blow the house down. So he went through the door. So he caught the oldest pig and put him in the sack. But luckily the oldest pig had a pocket knife. So he cut the sack open. The pigs all came out. They followed him to his house and when he went in the pigs all locked him in and left him in there and they all lived in the brick house. The end

In a Maori village long ago Maui and his brothers we’re annoyed because the sun was going too fast and they couldn't do anything.

The sun just ran across the Maori village and the Maori people didn’t know what to do. Then Maui stepped up and said “I will slow down the sun with my brothers”. His brothers whispered to Maui “um…. we don’t want to go the sun will burn us”.  Maui replied in a strong voice to his brothers” you’re coming with me’. Later on they went down to see the ladies and asked them to make a unbreakable rope to catch the sun but the ladies said “You have to go down and get the special flax”. So Maui and his brothers went on an adventure and went  and passed a lot of troubles but that's a whole other story. They came back to the ladies with the flax. After a few days Maui and his brothers came back to the ladies Maui asked “ Do you have our net”. The ladies said “ yes”. The ladies gave Maui the net .

Before they went Maui grabbed his magical staff.  It was a long journey to the place where the sun rises but in the end they got there. Maui said “ Grab  one end of the net each”. They got some rocks and hid behind them and waited. Then the sun rose into the net and said “ Why am I stuck”? Maui said to the sun” you’re stuck because you’re going too fast and we can’t do anything." So you should slow down". The sun shouted at Maui “ I’ll never do that”.Maui replied”Well  I‘ll make you”.  Maui waved his magical staff and yelled slow down sun”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He let go of the net and the sun rose but the sun didn’t feel the same. So then on they had time to do whatever they want.

Why earthquakes happen

Long ago maori people were minding their own business. Then someone looked up at the volcano and he screamed “the volcano is sizzling”! Everyone screamed” ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the volcano is sizzling.

The gods were arguing “You set that volcano off”” no you set it off”! Then the leader yelled Stop arguing. No one set it off it just happened! The leader and the lava god went down to the volcano. They made the lava go down to the centre of the earth. Then they heard laughing it was the earth.

The lava god said “ The lava must be tickling him”. Then he started shaking. “Woooooah” said the leader. What’s happening”? The lava god said “The earth's shaking because it’s getting tickled. The leader said” we should call it a earthquake.

So then on the lava god goes down to push the lava down to the centre of the earth he doesn’t always get there quick enough but when he pushes it to the centre of the earth  earthquakes happen but it doesn’t always happen.

Explanation- Why our school is special

Walt: write an explanation

I enjoyed writing an explanation.

It was challenging writing the sandpit bit.

Goal: I am learning to use Apostrophes for contractions correctly

Why Paroa School is the best

I want to explain  why paroa school is the best school in the galaxy.

My main Reason because there are  lots of things to do at playtime.   Like the library, the sandpit and the swimming pool.  The library is quiet and calm.  There a lot of books in there. There are 2 couches and they have a lot of Room.

The sandpit has a lot of sand.  The sandpit has a cover so it won’t get wet.

The swimming pool is well looked after.  I have a lot of  fun in there.  You can get keys over the Christmas holidays.

Another reason is we have our  own song.  Mr Mcarthur wrote the first version then we changed it.  Every assembly we sing it.  I think  we’re  the only school that has our own song.

Also our school is next to the beach.  We get  to go do cool stuff like last term we did a beach clean up.

This year we got to see a whale. Last year we saw a dead shark.  Doc and us went down to the beach.

My Olympic experience

I heard people yelling and cheering for me as I was sprinting down the track.

I heard breathing from the other runners as they were sprinting up behind me.

I saw flags waving in the wind I was so proud because I saw my flag.

I saw the runners running as fast as they can like their life depends on it.

I saw people everywhere in the stadium they were jumping everywhere.

I felt great and proud because I was winning.

I wondered if my family was watching in Jamaica.
