Today we started the Summer Learning Journey. Our first activity was the Colouring book. I enjoyed experimenting with different colours not just sticking with the original colours. It was challenging finding good colours.

Today we did our Current Events Quiz. I chose the Question About Steven Adams. He was in the News because he is going to Join the New Orleans Basketball team. I enjoyed learning that he played College Basketball as well.

Today we had to learn about the new Vice President Kamala Harris. I enjoyed researching about her and finding interesting facts. It was challenging finding a site that had the right facts.

 Sportsmanship - Vocabulary Task

Yesterday for Literacy I had to do a Vocabulary Task which included the definition of your word, a picture, and how it relates to sportsmanship. I enjoyed finding the picture. It was challenging writing the definition in my own words.

Current Events - Lake Ohau Fires

 Lake Ohau Fires

Yesterday we did a quiz on current events. Then today we chose a question we wanted to learn more about. I chose the Lake Ohau fires because they sounded interesting. The fire was devastating and destroyed a lot of homes. If you want to find out more read this.

 Bridge Valley 

A few weeks ago the Year 7 and 6's went to Bridge Valley for camp. It was challenging remembering what we did. This is what we did. One of my favourite things was the black waterslide. We put dishwashing liquid on it so we went faster. At the bottom was a pond that was freezing. Another fun thing was the Lazer Tag. We had massive guns that had red-dot scopes. When you died you had to go back to your own base to respawn. A challenging thing was doing abseiling. When you were standing on the ground it didn’t look that high up but when you were up there it was a lot different. The food was pretty good. My favourite was probably Hot dogs and Chips. Overall it's probably the best camp I've had.

Maui Artwork

Today I made Maui in Piskel for Te Wiki O Te Reo. It was really fun doing the clothes and the background. It was hard making the head the right shape.

Maori Pronunciations

Today Jacob and I made a Maori Pronunciation video for Te Wiki O Te Reo. It was fun making the video. It was challenging pronouncing them properly. We hope you learnt something.

Yesterday for Te‌ ‌Wiki‌ ‌ō‌ ‌te‌ ‌Reo‌ ‌Māori Brayden, Brock, and me made a Kahoot. Some of the questions were: what does Puku mean and what does Kia Ora mean. It was challenging thinking of the questions but overall it was good.
